Scherr Technology would like to welcome the Intrepid, CVN-11 back to her home at Pier 86 for the first time in nearly two years.  After an extensive overhaul of both the ship and her pier, the Intrepid has returned as one of New York’s premier attractions.  The overhaul which will cost more than $100 million, will feature a rebuilt pier, new exhibits and previously inaccessible areas like the focsle. The ship was named New York after the state and incorporates in its construction steel salvaged from the World Trade Centers. Her ship motto is “Never Forget.” Scherr Technology provided ussnewyork.com with strategy, design, content, implementation and marketing services. “We’re very proud that the twisted steel from the WTC towers will soon be used to forge an even stronger national defense,” New York Gov. George Pataki spoke in 2002.
